Brussels, November 6, 2025 — citydev.brussels reaffirms its role as a catalyst for economic and technological development through its collaboration with Kevlinx Data Centers, which is building Belgium’s first high-density, multi-tenant data center campus on the 2.5 hectare Galilei-site of citydev.brussels in Neder-Over-Heembeek, Brussels. The project, enabled by a long-term land lease granted by citydev.brussels, now stands as a strategic driver of local employment, knowledge development and stronger European digital integration. The data center will create around 150 new jobs during construction and operations.

A new benchmark for digital infrastructure
The Kevlinx campus in Brussels marks a turning point for Belgium’s datacenter infrastructure landscape. While conventional data centers typically offer power densities between 6 and 12 kW per rack, Kevlinx is introducing infrastructure capable of supporting 60 kW per rack and beyond, up to 150 kW with liquid cooling. This makes Brussels home to Belgium’s first high-density multi-tenant data center campus and one of the few in Europe designed to deliver such compute performance with a focus on efficiency and environmental responsibility.
The facility is designed for AI, research, data analytics and high-performance computing, enabling Belgian and European organisations to process their data locally and securely, without relying on infrastructure abroad. In doing so, it delivers true digital sovereignty: locally operated, giving organisations full control over their data and operation.
Building a local ecosystem of talent and innovation
Kevlinx is actively collaborating with Brussels universities and research institutions, and to attracting and retaining Belgian technology talent, including experts with international experience from global data center players. Its Brussels campus serves as a centre of excellence within the company, working in close synergy with its headquarters in the Netherlands. Building on the experience gained in Belgium, Kevlinx will expand its data center footprint across Europe. In addition, the company works with leading Belgian and international engineering, construction and service partners, reinforcing the regional value chain and fostering knowledge transfer within the Brussels-Capital Region.
